STAR TEST SECURITY AFFIDAVIT
- To: CA Resisters <ca-resisters@interversity.org>
- Subject: STAR TEST SECURITY AFFIDAVIT
- From: George Sheridan <learn@jps.net>

As noted in a January post to CA-Resisters, I have in the past signed the
affidavit after altering it by crossing out or adding language and
initialling the alterations (such as adding to # 1, "except for the purpose
of fostering public discussion of the appropriateness of the test"). I have
not heard from anyone about the alterations.
District and test site (school) test coordinators sign a different
affidavit. The following affidavit for test examiners (teachers) is copied
directly from the Regulations for the STAR Program, Title 5. EDUCATION,
Division 1. State Department of Education, Chapter 2. Pupils, Subchapter
3.75. Standardized Testing and Reporting Program, Article 1. General,

distributed to pupils.
(4) I will limit access to the test(s) and test materials by test

(5) I will collect and account for all materials following each
period of testing and will not permit pupils to remove test materials from
the room where testing takes place.
(6) I will not review any test questions, passages, or other test
items with pupils or any other person before, during, or following testing.
(7) I will not develop scoring keys or review or score any pupil

to prepare answer documents for machine or other scoring.
(8) I will return all test materials to the designated STAR test

(9) I will administer the test(s) in accordance with the
directions for test administration set forth in the contractor's manual for
test administration.
(10) I have been trained to administer the tests.
