In my former district, the rewards are huge for doing
well on the FCAT! They give out anything from new
bikes and t.v.'s to rides in Limosines and dinner with
some important person, etc. I was appalled at the
competition that they instilled between the students
to see who was going to do better than whom--making it
all even more stressful.
They also now have something called "DE-Escalation
Training" for the teachers when they have to deal with
an overacting child regarding testing. Where is this
all headed??
