Dear Colleagues and hermanos de confianza,
This morning I received a letter from educator Susan Harman of California.
She and her colleagues are also running an opt out campaign on the west
coast. Their website is
www.calcare.orgArial. So, take a look. Some of the links are not yet
working, but should be by the end of this week. We are indeed all in this
together. Susan asked about our bus benches and bill boards, and wanted to
know where they were, and how much they cost. California is soo big, she
said, it is hard to know where to target.
And speaking of bill boards, one of them is still up on Eighth Avenue here in
beautiful downtown Greeley, and still no word from the press. You could
still call the Greeley Tribune at 970 -352-0211 and ask editor Randy Bangert
the pertinent question: Why has the Tribune remained silent about the
negative impact of CSAP and parental rights in the face of the testing
regimen? See if he calls you back.
----------------------
A defect in the CSAP testing booklet has come to the attention of
"revolutionary headquarters" here this morning. I will pass the information
along with someone's editorial comment: - If you purchased a pair of slacks
that were defective, wouldn't you return those slacks and be provided a
refund? All you would need would be a receipt. I think the Colorado
Department of Education could come up with a receipt for the 23 million
dollars spent for the defective test. What do you think? Here's the
message:
Dear SALs:
CDE and CTB have recently informed us that there is an erroneously placed
STOP sign on page 9, Session 2 Writing, of the CSAP Grade 7 READING/WRITING
test booklet. Please share this information with your test proctors so that
they know that when administering this session of the 7th grade writing exam
they should remind students to ignore this particular STOP sign and continue
working through page 15 (the next valid STOP sign). We understand that this
is not ideal but there wasn’t a way to get a different version of the 7th
grade Reading/Writing to districts before CSAP starts.
Thanks,
