Will paying teachers more than the principal help?

A charter school set to open next year in New York City will test the notion
that higher pay attracts top teachers who in turn produce better educational
results. The school will pay teachers a starting salary of $125,000 per year.
It also will require them to work more than standard hours and take on
additional leadership responsibilities. The New York Times (3/7)
