CTA is planning a Statewide Day of Action for public schools on May 
14, California Day of the Teacher. In order to have the most impact 
in local communities and in local legislative districts, this will 
not be a rally at the Capitol, but an opportunity to do hundreds of 
events across the state. Leaders of the CTA local association in your 
area should be developing plans within the next few weeks. Or look up 
California Teachers Association in your local phone book. There are 
quite a few CTA offices around the state where the regional 
organizers and the staff who assist local chapters are located.
