Re: Adbooks
I lurk also on Adbooks. I would try to read the books, but I'm so slow (bad
thing for a media specialist to say) but enjoy getting ideas and different
perspectives. I was hesitant to add the other discussion on middle
literature, but it looks like it is getting lots of initial activity and
questions.

Adbooks is a discussion group for adolescent literature. They host several
discussions a year, and are currently in their awards process; from the
nominees, one book is "voted off" each week until the finalists remain and
people vote FOR a book. The pleading of cases for books is amazing. People
can't vote for/against a book unless they've read the entire thing. I'm
mainly a lurker, because what books I do get around to reading are more for
middle level (I'd say these are more high school), but it's still
fascinating, and I've gotten many good suggestions.
