Robin: What's amazing to me is how many people on the middies are authors! I wonder how they all got the word. They're coming out of the woodwork, it seems. There are several "big" authors on ChildLit, but not as many-- or at least they don't post. They host several discussions a year, and are currently in their awards process; from the nominees, one book is "voted off" each week until the finalists remain and people vote FOR a book. The pleading of cases for books is amazing. People can't vote for/against a book unless they've read the entire thing. I'm mainly a lurker, because what books I do get around to reading are more for middle level (I'd say these are more high school), but it's still fascinating, and I've gotten many good suggestions.
