Re: Interview questions

1. What YA books have you read over the summer? Many teachers are able to encourage kids to read by sharing books they have read in a variety of genres.

What if the person did not read any YA books? How should that be interpreted. Would you expect the person to say, "but I did read other things such as....and provide a list?

What if the person just says, "no, I didn't"?

Always wonder how the responses to these kinds of questions should be answered. If I were the one being interviewed, I would wonder how my answer may be interpreted.

2. What would a typical classroom period look like in your class?
"typical"? Do you mean an ordinary day? One's regular routine?

What writing process do you favor? Reading-writing workshop? Spelling? Vocab?
Are spelling and vocabulary writing processes?

6. What do you consider your greatest strength as a teacher?
Weakness?
Rather than ask what is one's weakness, perhaps ask what area of your teaching would you like to develop. Not a well-worded question. :)

7. How do you envision utilizing the media center?
What if no media center exists? Guess the question would not be asked. :) :) :)
