Connect with your state writing projects! You may go to
http://www.writingproject.org or directly to the map of sites.
http://www.writingproject.org/About/map.csp Writing projects do a lot of
good/great stuff to include introducing teachers to Nancie Atwell, Ralph
Fletcher and many others. The National Writing Project is well grounded and
NOT a canned program. Please check it out and talk to others (many are
writing project teacher-consultants on this list).

> Hi
Last year, our school had a separate writing teacher for all students. This
year, we will be incorporating writing in our own language arts classes.
Has anyone used Nancie Atwell's "Lessons That Change Writers? Does anyone
else have any books they recommend, or teaching methods for state
assessments? I am going to be teaching 6th graders in preparation for their
7th grade writing assessment. In N.C., they will be writing
problem/solution, or evaluative.
Thanks,
