Debbie,
Most of my ESL students love to read the same books the other kids
read--but in Spanish. The Harry Potter books, Pam Munoz Ryan, and many
other writers/books have Spanish translations. If you go to your local
Barnes and Noble they will have a shelf in the children's area of Spanish
translations.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a YA novel in Spanish? Every year I
have more and more students for whom Spanish is their native language. A
lot of the research I have read is that reading in the mother tongue will
help them increase their reading/comprehension and English skills. I can
read Spanish myself and want to read a couple this summer so the books are
available for my kids in the fall. Thanks for your suggestions.
