I just went through the process and am still recovering. :-) I would also
recommend joining the yahoo group http://www.onelist.com/community/EAELA

There is so much I wish I had known going into the process. I don't know if
I achieved National Board Certification, but I learned a tremendous amount.
It was one of the best things I have ever done and completely transformed my
teaching and my relationship to my students. Just stay focused on all the
learning you're doing! It helped me stay sane, anyway!
