glue and macaroni, beans, etc.
make them 'stand off' the board with 1.5" tailor pins at their corners
cut out one end into a spiral & attach that end
1-hole punch the words & string them w/ cut straws between,
attach the yarn ends
string up yarn, knotting 2 paperclips interlaced,
and hand the words from them
hang up sentence pouchs (tagboard folded up at bottom 1")
and put the words in there so they can be moved, like magnetic poetry
hand words over a halloween spider web (at those party stores)
put words behind a large poster and cut doors in the poster
to open like an 'advent calendar'
just some silly ideas that came to me right now.

Debbie--
You could let this year's students help you create the bulletin board --
I'm
picturing a sort of collage of their creative expressions. If the kids
have
art classes, that could be an integrated lesson or unit you do in
collaboration with the art teacher(s).

Every year, I have found that it is much easier to teach theme to my 7th
and
8th graders if I have a bulletin board of theme ideas that they can refer
to. However, my board is boring! I need some ideas of how to put up
theme
words and phrases in some creative, neat way rather than just cutting out
the
words with scissors. Thanks,
