passing the hat

Oops. I've gotten so busy lately* that I've been forgetting to pass the 
hat or urge folks to extort change from their furniture or panhandle with 
my pitiful, slightly rusty old Spaghetteos can. And as a result, 
Interversity's coffers are getting alarmingly low on fundage.

Help?

Remember, it donations don't have to be big. Folks sometime apologize to 
me for sending only $10 or $15, but when we set this place up a few years 
ago the arrangement was that folks should send what they could, when they 
could.

If *everybody* found a way to send a small donation once or twice a year, 
we'd do fine. Some folks pitch in more often or with bigger donations, and 
they have kept us going so far, but many small donations pays the bills 
just as well as a few larger ones. No apologies necessary!

* I forget which lists I've mentioned this to and which I haven't so 
apologies if this is old news here. Back in January I took a job as a 
newspaper reporter on a more-or-less daily newspaper (it's published five 
days a week, so I always hesitate to call it a daily :-)

A few weeks after I joined the staff one of the three full-time reporters 
up and quit. Because this is a small town and the pay is, er, on the 
unlucrative side, the paper has had trouble filling that position. So for 
months two of us have been covering for three. I cover city government, 
churches, schools, parks, and anything else that comes up. It's fun work, 
but it's slowing me down on my begging duties ;-)

Anyway, consider yourselves panhandled!
