Re: Just checking
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie was a wonderful book. I picked it up at the conference in Pittsburgh. I began to read it as I waited for my plane. By the time I got on the plane after transferring in Philadelphia I was near the end. Although I read a lot, it is quite rare that I have found a book that could engross me after a long conference as much as this one has. I eagerly look forward to reading his new one this summer. (Clueless about the title but the review I read is excellent).

I noticed I hadn't received anything from middle-lit in a week. I realize that some of your are still finishing up the school year.
Instead of bothering you "for nothing", I'll also throw in that I've read Rules by Cynthia Lord and Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie (written by one of Frank McCourt's former students in NYC), and both are excellent.
Good luck to those of you still in school; I hope the rest of you are enjoying the summer!
