This year I tried a multigenre project with my eighth graders, and in their end of the year evaluations, almost all of them said it was the best thing we did all year. Of course there are things I'll do differently, but as firsts go, it went amazingly well. A definite keeper! And Dayle, wow. I'm envious. Somedays I wish I had it together as much as you have! Your post took my back to my own first year tears. Still today it can be a very frustrating profession--especially with the state and federal mandates--but I can't imagine any other.
